Reasons I Love Cats

So this may give me a reputation as a cat lady, but I really don't care...because I kind of am. I have one adorable cat, who's 2 1/2 named Bentley and my sister has a 2 year old cat named Grayceson and they are the best of friends. So here are my reasons why cats are awesome.

1) They sleep. All the time.

That sounds like the most fun life. I would love to sleep 19 hours a day! And when they sleep, they're extra adorable.

2) They have ninja like skills.

Every see a cat jump around? They're talented. They can jump on dressers with no effort. And they can run like little cheetahs. They also have a magical ability to appear or disappear in the blink of an eye.

3) They're loving, yet independent

The best of both worlds. Unlike dogs, they don't need to be your everything. They enjoy doing their own thing. But when the time is right (let's be honest, mostly when you are in the middle of something...or sleeping), they are the sweetest, most loving little creatures. They'll cuddle and purr like just being around you is the most awesome time. Thanks for the confidence boost!

4) Low maintenance

While they aren't as low maintenance as I thought, they still are easier than dogs. You never have to get up in the night or wake up early to let them out to the bathroom. Nope, they'll do it themselves. Kinda worth having to change a litter box. And set out some food and water and they're set for days.

5) They're sooooo cute

Everything about them is just so adorable. It's very rare to see an ugly cat, but ugly dogs are everywhere. Cats have super cute noses, ears, little mouths, teeth, and paws. Their scratchy tongues when they lick you. And whiskers!! Ohhhh and the little bald anti-eyebrow area!

Me & my Bentley :) =^..^=

6) They don't judge/hold grudges

Well, no animals do, but I find my cat gets over things super quick. If I anger him, he licks his paw and already forgets about it. And he has seen me talk to myself, trip, and many other embarrassing things and doesn't think any less of me.

7) Their sounds

Their purrs and meows are so sweet. And they make different noises and I swear my cat is always saying "Nooooo".

8) You can't get mad at them

They look at you with their sweet eyes and you can't even get mad at them. You catch them doing something bad and they stop and look at you like "uh oh. nothing to see here. just doing cat stuff" and it's so cute and funny, anger cannot be a possible emotion. Humping my pillow? Gross, but hey you're a cat, you don't know better...I'll just give you some space.

9) They're SO curious!

They get into the strangest locations and it's hilarious to watch. Put a box on the floor...no matter the size, you will get a cat in it. Just went shopping? Clearly that plastic bag contains items for your cat, so they have to check it out. Closet open? Must inspect. Blinds open...must look out window and chase birds with eyes.

10) They learn so fast!

I have a legit trained cat. I kenneled trained him as a baby, so he's totally fine with that. He comes running when I call his name. He plays fetch. He knows how to shake. He even stays when I tell him to. Ok, that needs some explaining. While he is independent, he loves me and when I'm home likes to follow me around some of the time. So if I'm running into the other room quick, I'll tell him to stay otherwise he'll follow me, and he listens! Plus 1 out of every 20 times I ask him to give me a kiss, he actually does!

11) They don't care!

I mean, how awesome would it be to literally not give a crap what anybody thinks? They're so confident. They think nothing of putting their butts in your face or pouncing on your body. My cat loves to walk across my chest crushing my chest bones. He thinks nothing of sleeping on my head or neck or manhandling my face to get to my left ear- which he sucks nightly. Heck, I've even woken up to him asleep on my back. And other animals? He loves them, but get in the way of his treats and he will kindly hit them on the head. He's even used his paw to slap me. I didn't even know that was a thing.

12) Like kids, but less work & cheaper

Want a kid, but don't want the commitment and hard work of having to keep them alive? Get a cat! They don't require constant attention and you can't screw them up to the point of needing therapy. And they pretty much can't even talk back. An occasionally meow here and there, but they can't argue with reason and facts, so you are sort of guaranteed to win. A yearly vet check is usually sufficient and you don't have to send them to school or save for college.

I could go on forever. My cat son just melts my heart. I never was a cat person until this little furball came into my life. But now show me a picture of a cat or put me near a cat, and I will go crazy. Overall, cats are awesome. Hope you enjoyed my reasons. Why do you love cats? Because not loving cats isn't an option.
