Y U SO FAST?
I have spent about 4 days trying to catch a wild baby bunny in my yard. I have not been successful because it is ridiculously fast. I have an obsession with the cuteness of bunnies and have had three pet rabbits in my life. I know it's not good to keep a wild animal, but it's alone and so cute. However, it does not want to be captured! Especially by my hands or the bucket I thought I could lure it into. But everyday I find it in the backyard. Why won't it just let me love it? One day I will probably end up getting bit by a rapid animal because I just adore animals and helping them. Last week I got hissed at by a giant turtle I tried helping cross the road. Oh, self. Hey, animals are people too, right??!!

Sad Realizations
I have come to a very sad realization. Something that crushes both my adult and teenage soul. I hate to admit it, but admitting is the first step to recovery...I am not and will never be Veronica Mars. If you're unfamiliar with Veronica Mars, you are dead to me. Ok, not really, but it was pretty much the sole source of my teeenage happiness. I thought I was a teenage detective. I would go through things aka snoop and even had a ridiculous spy kit that included glasses that reflected things behind you I got from a novelty shop. Oh and an as seen on tv device that was suppose to amplify sound, but never worked. I thought I could solve crimes and run surveillance. The closest I came to that was eavesdropping. Mostly it just led to me making incorrect assumptions. I even looked into getting my private investigation license ad ordered all the relevant statutes to study. Along with a fancy slr camera for surveillence. I was delusional. And to this day when my spy savvy-ness, or lack of, becomes apparent to me in a situation, I become very sad.
She's just so cool!
I've never been able to successfully pick a lock, guess someone's password, or found any information an observant person couldn't find themselves. Yet a part of me can never let go of the fact that I want to be the smart, witty, and cool real-life Veronica Mars. When the movie recently got funded by kickstarter, my teenage self couldn't contain her excitement. And the adult me is just as excited. Which brought back my deep rooted desires. The more I fail at anything that would come naturally to a detective, the more I realize I am no Veronica. But I guess Veronica Mars wouldn't be so amazing if she was easily emulated. Still, don't expect me to give up anytime soon!

Pros & Cons of Driving
7 years ago today I got my driver's license. I was freaked out and sometimes I still can't believe I'm old enough and able to drive. My driving teacher told me I wouldn't pass my test, so I was extra nervous to take it. I ended up waiting 4 months after my birthday to take my test so I could practice more. But jokes on him, because I passed it on the first try. So in honor of this glorious occasion, I thought I would share the pros and cons of driving.
Pros
Cons
Not my exact car, but it's the exact same as my car.
My first and current car. Blazer swag!
Pros
- Freedom to go where you want when you want
- Not having to depend on others for rides
- Listening to music loud and taking a relaxing drive when you're stressed
- Getting to zoom away super fast when you're angry #dramaticstyle
Cons
- Expensive! (car, gas, insurance, oil changes, repairs, etc)
- Bad conditions (storms, hail, snow, ice)
- Boring...it loses its' fun real quick
- Road rage aka no one else knows how to drive
- Finding parking spaces is sometimes harder than calculus
- Getting lost also known as everyday of my life and having to turn your radio down
- Having to run errands for people or give others rides
- Not only having to worry about yourself, but basically every other driver too
- Not being able to start your car when it's cold (I've gotten better) or locking your keys in your car (I've done this way too many times)
- Your driver's license picture is always ugly (but hey at least they let you lie about your weight)

Reasons I Love Cats
So this may give me a reputation as a cat lady, but I really don't care...because I kind of am. I have one adorable cat, who's 2 1/2 named Bentley and my sister has a 2 year old cat named Grayceson and they are the best of friends. So here are my reasons why cats are awesome.
1) They sleep. All the time.
That sounds like the most fun life. I would love to sleep 19 hours a day! And when they sleep, they're extra adorable.
2) They have ninja like skills.
Every see a cat jump around? They're talented. They can jump on dressers with no effort. And they can run like little cheetahs. They also have a magical ability to appear or disappear in the blink of an eye.
3) They're loving, yet independent
The best of both worlds. Unlike dogs, they don't need to be your everything. They enjoy doing their own thing. But when the time is right (let's be honest, mostly when you are in the middle of something...or sleeping), they are the sweetest, most loving little creatures. They'll cuddle and purr like just being around you is the most awesome time. Thanks for the confidence boost!
4) Low maintenance
While they aren't as low maintenance as I thought, they still are easier than dogs. You never have to get up in the night or wake up early to let them out to the bathroom. Nope, they'll do it themselves. Kinda worth having to change a litter box. And set out some food and water and they're set for days.
5) They're sooooo cute
Everything about them is just so adorable. It's very rare to see an ugly cat, but ugly dogs are everywhere. Cats have super cute noses, ears, little mouths, teeth, and paws. Their scratchy tongues when they lick you. And whiskers!! Ohhhh and the little bald anti-eyebrow area!
6) They don't judge/hold grudges
Well, no animals do, but I find my cat gets over things super quick. If I anger him, he licks his paw and already forgets about it. And he has seen me talk to myself, trip, and many other embarrassing things and doesn't think any less of me.
7) Their sounds
Their purrs and meows are so sweet. And they make different noises and I swear my cat is always saying "Nooooo".
8) You can't get mad at them
They look at you with their sweet eyes and you can't even get mad at them. You catch them doing something bad and they stop and look at you like "uh oh. nothing to see here. just doing cat stuff" and it's so cute and funny, anger cannot be a possible emotion. Humping my pillow? Gross, but hey you're a cat, you don't know better...I'll just give you some space.
9) They're SO curious!
They get into the strangest locations and it's hilarious to watch. Put a box on the floor...no matter the size, you will get a cat in it. Just went shopping? Clearly that plastic bag contains items for your cat, so they have to check it out. Closet open? Must inspect. Blinds open...must look out window and chase birds with eyes.
10) They learn so fast!
I have a legit trained cat. I kenneled trained him as a baby, so he's totally fine with that. He comes running when I call his name. He plays fetch. He knows how to shake. He even stays when I tell him to. Ok, that needs some explaining. While he is independent, he loves me and when I'm home likes to follow me around some of the time. So if I'm running into the other room quick, I'll tell him to stay otherwise he'll follow me, and he listens! Plus 1 out of every 20 times I ask him to give me a kiss, he actually does!
11) They don't care!
I mean, how awesome would it be to literally not give a crap what anybody thinks? They're so confident. They think nothing of putting their butts in your face or pouncing on your body. My cat loves to walk across my chest crushing my chest bones. He thinks nothing of sleeping on my head or neck or manhandling my face to get to my left ear- which he sucks nightly. Heck, I've even woken up to him asleep on my back. And other animals? He loves them, but get in the way of his treats and he will kindly hit them on the head. He's even used his paw to slap me. I didn't even know that was a thing.
12) Like kids, but less work & cheaper
Want a kid, but don't want the commitment and hard work of having to keep them alive? Get a cat! They don't require constant attention and you can't screw them up to the point of needing therapy. And they pretty much can't even talk back. An occasionally meow here and there, but they can't argue with reason and facts, so you are sort of guaranteed to win. A yearly vet check is usually sufficient and you don't have to send them to school or save for college.
I could go on forever. My cat son just melts my heart. I never was a cat person until this little furball came into my life. But now show me a picture of a cat or put me near a cat, and I will go crazy. Overall, cats are awesome. Hope you enjoyed my reasons. Why do you love cats? Because not loving cats isn't an option.

Ranch
I saw a commercial and it sparked my creativity. Well mostly, it reminded me of my obsession. With ranch. But not just ANY ranch. Hidden Valley Ranch. No other ranch even comes close.
<3 Ranch <3
And while this is COMPLETELY random, I thought I would devote an entire post to ranch. So here are some things I put ranch on.
- Pizza
- Salad (obvs!)
- Dip chicken nuggets/strips in...and while mildly unrelated, chicken PATTIES (as well as fries...except fries with cheese on them...those get dipped in ranch) get mayo not ranch
- wraps!! (turkey/chicken, cheese, lettuce, & ranch on a tortilla rolled up)
- ice cream...ok just kidding on that one
Hope you enjoyed this short and sweet post. What food or food item are you obsessed with?

Steph Reviews: Zeitgeist
I typically do not want to give spoilers in my reviews, but this one is going to be full of spoilers because I am PASSIONATE about this movie and topic. So if you haven't seen it and want to, I will warn you when the spoilers begin. Today's review is on. "Zeitgeist: The Movie" (2007).
But first, an overview. So I'm a sociology major and I have heard many people mention this documentary. I found it on Netflix the other day and decided I had to watch it. I typically like documentaries, especially ones that make you think, so this was right up my alley. The summary on Netflix says, "Peter Joseph's documentary explores controversial links between organized religion, global financial markets, and the international power structure." How I would explain it is a movie that exposes what you thought you knew about religion, government, and money.
*SPOILER TIME*
The movie was set up in three sections. The first section was about religion, the second about 9/11 and the government, and the third about money and the government.
1) RELIGION
*Just a forewarning, I am agnostic and do not believe in or prescribe to any religion. I am very educated about different religions and think everybody can believe whatever they want.
The main premise of this section was the Judeo-Christian religion is most closely resembled after the ancient Egyptian religion. In fact, in most regards it's flat out copied exactly. Many religions share the same formula. Such as a leader born on December 25th from a virgin death, being one of 12 or having 12 siblings/disciples/etc, dying, and being resurrected 3 days later. To break this apart further, they examined the stars, which is the basis of all religions.
Jesus, the son, of God, is actually representative of the SUN. Around December 25th, the brightest star in the night sky, Sirius, is in line with the three stars of Orion's belt (the three kings) and the sun. So that's where the three kings following the bright star to the "son" comes from. Also around this time, the sun is the lowest it gets in the sky and stays that way for 3 days (death) before being resurrected (rising again). This results in longer days and it celebrating around Easter when the spring equinox starts the beginning of the growing season. Basically, it has so much to do with the stars. The number 12 is representative of the astrological calendar. We are in the age of Pisces, the fish, which is represented by Jesus (an age is something like 2051 years) When people fear the end of the world, they're really fearing the end of an AGE. The next age is the age of Aquarius, which will happen in 2150 ish)
2) 9/11 & GOVERNMENT
*Another forewarning, I do not want to come across as a conspiracy theorist or suggest our nation is behind these terrorist attacks. I am just going to share what this documentary presented.
It showed engineers and other qualified people showing demolitions and the structure of the world trade center and the way it fell wasn't natural. The towers were made to withstand plane attacks. The way it fell, it was as if there were explosives planted INSIDE the building as well. And the remaining metal beams were cut at a slant, just as they would have been if they were being demolished on purpose.
Also the pilot who flew into the pentagon was supposedly a horrible pilot according to students in his pilot class and the way the plane went in was very specific. Also the metal building was melted, yet the humans inside the plane were not damaged to the point of destroying their DNA evidence.
Overall, there appears to be more behind these attacks than we were told. Especially the fact that there were many warnings beforehand that weren't taken seriously.
3) MONEY & GOVERNMENT
This section was pretty mind boggling. The government doesn't control money. A private organization loans money to the government. So they control how much money we have and can totally mess with the economy. Money isn't backed by gold anymore, so they completely decide the value of it. Federal Income Tax was also created by these organizations. Meaning 3 months of yearly salaries for U.S. workers go to this tax, which is spent before it can be used to benefit the citizens. Furthermore, there isn't even a specific law requiring this tax. Americans just do it because they think they have to.
Wars produce tons of money, which is how the original millionaires and billionaires got so rich. America wanted to be involved in all wars, but wanted to make it seem like they didn't, so they had to make other countries make the first move so they could retaliate. Also they said the U.S. government doesn't want us to be educated so we don't question those in charge. U.S. student test scores are so below other countries, it's ridiculous. They use the media to bombard us and distract us from real problems.
*SPOILERS OVER*
So if you haven't watched it, definitely check it out. It's super interesting and definitely makes you think! I am not the best at describing these types of movies, so definitely judge it for yourself. There is a lot of information and you don't have to accept it as truth, but at least challenge your thoughts. We are taught these things and don't question them, but seeing a completely other side almost makes you feel like your life is a lie. And I would definitely like to see both sides and decide for myself instead of believing whatever I'm told.

Steph Writes: Shuttle 241 Pt. 1
Since my mind tends to go a million miles a minute and is constantly flowing with random thoughts, I thought "Hey, why not add another 'series' to my blog?". And that is what this is. Steph Writes...because I like to add my name to the title of everything! I will write a short story or a portion or a story or something totally impromptu. So here is the first installment, totally made up on the spot. Enjoy!
I wasn't particularly surprised to be picked to go to Earth, being among the top 5% of my graduating class, but I definitely didn't expect what would come next. The Station was sending a shuttle to Earth to examine the ruins and see if there were any forms of life left. I was picked along with 9 other soon-to-be scientists. It was basically the grunt work because nobody knew what to expect. But it was a mission I was actually excited about. Having only read about Earth in textbooks, I wanted to see it for myself. Earth was once a flourishing place full of humans very similar to our own species. By studying the life and fall of Earth, it was expected we could predict the future for our planet- Zebulon.
I grabbed my gear and walked towards the shuttle. A gate stood between me and the shuttle, where we were expected to answer questions to a recorder to insure we were of sound mind. "The year?", he coldly asked. "3021", I replied. "Your name?", he asked, not even looking up from his clipboard. "Gertrude Gains." I answered. "And lastly, do you understand this mission is purely experimental and you may not make it home?" he asked, showing a tiny bit of sympathy. "Yes" I answered, trying not to think of that possibility. Space travel had advanced over the years, but it still wasn't perfect.
I walked towards the shuttle and got situated with my fellow travelers. With the advancements of space travel, it would only take 4 months time to reach Earth, which was astonishing considering how far away it was from our planet. The shuttle was about to take off and for the first time in my life I was happy I didn't have a family to miss. My parents were also scientists who volunteered for space exploration experiments. But they didn't get the luxury of coming back home. Lost in space, I was told. So I was raised by a family friend, who encouraged me to follow in their footsteps. To do great things. And I did.
The shuttle took off and we went flying through space. Shuttle 241, our first attempt to reach Earth. The four months went by with nothing particularly interesting happening. I prepared with my shuttle mates and we passed the time researching and comparing notes. We entered the Earth's atmosphere and the shuttle uneasily landed. I had never been more excited. We got our gear on, and headed to the door to get our first glimpse of what was left of Earth. The door opened and to our surprise, we were greeted by 10 faces. I didn't recognize the species, but I was sure they weren't human. They stood at least 7 feet tall and their skin was grey and ashy instead of the customary skin of humans. Two rows of sharp teeth stuck out of their thin lips. Their nose-less faces were overcompensated by 2 huge eyes, void of eyelids. Before we could decide how to approach them, an ear splitting screech brought us all to our knees.
The next thing I remembered was waking up in a cold room, similar to a jail cell, but without bars or walls. I could see my fellow shuttle mates, but some kind of invisible barrier kept us in our own sections. Whatever the barrier was, also was impenetrable to sound. I could see them calling out, but the only sound I heard was my own voice screaming. I was striped to the clothes under my spacesuit, which consisted of blue jeans, a black t-shirt, and white socks. My head ached and it was only until I brought my hand to my aching head, that I noticed small cut in my wrist. Upon further inspection, I noticed some sort of chip inside the tiny wound. I tried to dig it out, but when my finger made contact with the chip, I was zapped with some sort of electrical shock.
...TO BE CONTINUED!
Well there you go! Hope you enjoyed it!! More stories to come. And the continuation of this story!

Well there you go! Hope you enjoyed it!! More stories to come. And the continuation of this story!

The Start of Steph Reviews
So recently, much to my dismay, we have cancelled our cable. Insert super complainy, whiney sentence here about how I've had cable since I was a child and cannot live without it. But really, it was hard on me. Being a hermit who would never leave my bed if I didn't have to, tv was my pastime. Anyway, getting on to the point of this post...as an alternative, we ended up getting hulu plus and Netflix. Now, I am still the only one in the house without a device (roku, ps3, ebox 360, wii, etc) to be able to play hulu or Netflix in my room so I'm stuck with 12 channels of antenna tv. Ugh. BUT I am able to go to the living room and watch away if no one is currently occupying the shared television. And while I do miss watching bravo and the newest episodes of Pretty Little Liars as they air (ok, let's be honest, I go to my dad's every Tuesday at 7 so I don't have to miss pll.), I'm actually pretty impressed with the selection these alternatives offer.
Now, I wouldn't go as far as to say they can entirely replace tv, but they do have some great benefits. Hulu plus has every single episode of Law and Order: SVU, which pleases me greatly. More than it probably should. But my sister and I are totally in love with that show. What's not to love? We even nicknamed our cats (Bentley and Grayceson) Benson and Graybler. Yeah, it might be a problem. I've also got to get my fill of Twilight Zone episodes and Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Hey childhood, missed you! The scifi junkie in me also started watching The X-Files and am totally obsessed. I've even got to watch a bunch of documentaries, which I love. One called Craigslist Joe told the story of a man who lived 30 days exclusively off of craigslist. It was awesome!
Netflix is equally awesome, if not better. I've discovered Doctor Who, which now I understand the hype around. There are tons of shows I would totally watch like Extreme Couponing. And don't even get me started about the hilarious hipster comedy Portlandia, which literally makes me want to move to Portland. And the movies. Oh the movies. Mulan, my favorite Disney movie! And The Hunger Games. I mean, I might as well just call it a life and watch these programs indefinitely.
What I'm getting at here is I am going to try a new "segment", if you will, on my blog. Probably once a week, or more if I don't have a life.....so more, I will review a movie or program I've recently watched on most likely Netflix because this is what I enjoy in my free time. Hopefully it will be interesting, and given my writing style, I'm sure it will be. So look out for the first "Steph Reviews" soon! You never know, you just may find something interesting to watch.

Beauty Favorites of the Moment
Totally in the mood for a random post, so hope you all are too. Here are a bunch of my favorite beauty things, if anyone is curious. I thought it would be interesting to compare in the future to see what has changed and what hasn't.
shampoo- not very picky about shampoos. I'll use whatever. Currently I switch off between an off brand dandruff shampoo to keep dandruff away and Suave daily clarifying shampoo for when my hair is greasy (I do not recommend using it everyday and it usually takes me 2 rounds of shampoo to get my hair super clean)
conditioner- aussie 3 minute miracle <3 (keep in mind, I wouldn't recommend it for daily use. I don't wash my hair daily)
hairspray- aussie finish flexible hold (aerosol version- sorry ozone layer) smells AMAZING & works great
leave in conditioner- usually I would use aussie hair insurance (which is awesome), but using this deep conditioner (see above) I don't need anything special so I some I made myself... find out how to make it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcGFDE6bGJI
mousse- TRESemme flawless curls mousse. gives pretty curls, but mostly importantly keeps my frizz at bay!
face primer- I don't use this all the time, but I really love L'Oreal magic lumi light infusing primer. nice finish and good results.
foundation- L'Oreal visible lift smooth absolute instant age reversing foundation. I cannot rave about this enough. Makes my skin look FLAWLESS! Not in love with the brush applicator, but still love it.
bb cream- Maybelline dram fresh. Not full coverage, but just enough to hide minor imperfections.
concealer- L'Oreal true match super blendable crayon concealer. Super easy to use and goes on effortlessly.
**I'm not a fan of powder in summer so I don't have a favorite at the moment**
blush- I haven't been wearing blush much since I try to go for a more natural summer look, but I do love the combination or elf shimmering facial whip in lilac petal with milani blush in pink craze over it. super pretty and lasts longer
bronzer- I don't wear bronzer much, either, as I have just tried to embrace my pasty skin! but I do like nyc bronzer in sunny, as pretty much everyone else does. it's inexpensive and does a great job.
highlight- mary-lou manizer from the balm. more expensive than most of my other favorites, but SO beautiful for highlighting. just the perfect product.
eyebrows- I love filling my brows in with the darkest color from elfs ethereal eyeshadow quad. it is the perfect shade and works great. if necessary, I will also keeps my brows down with elf's clear lash and eyebrow gel
eye primer- L'Oreal magic decrease eyelid primer. goes on smoothly and feels nice on your lids. can't ask for more. well except keeping your shadow on longer, but I never pay attention to that. whoops
mascara- L'Oreal voluminous false lashes. makes your lashes look AWESOME & doesn't require much work. and no clumping is always a plus!
eyeliner- I've been loving Maybelline shadow effects beaming fx in dark brown. I think you can use it as eyeshadow or eyeliner. it's in a crayon form and gives a nice subtler look than black.
eye shadow- like the rest of the natural known world, I love Maybelline eye studio color tattoo in bad to the bronze. it is a beautiful color and applies so easily. I love applying this all over my lid and then working some Revlon satin eyeshadow in polished bronze into the crease. Looks super cute.
lip product- since my lips are sort of sensitive, I don't wear lip products much, but the one I've been reaching for lately is L'Oreal colour riche balm in laze in the maze. it's so creamy and pretty and isn't overwhelming to my light complexion. definitely a win.
perfume/body spray- since it's summer, i'm leaning towards body sprays and Dark Kiss by bath and body works is by far my go-to scent
I have learned I use a lot more L'Oreal products than I realized lol. But these are all my current favorites. What are yours?

Dreams
So I've mentioned on youtube my issue with anxiety. I won't go into it right now, but pretty much the only side effect my anxiety medicine gives me is weird, intense dreams. Pretty cool side effect. But also very strange. I thought I'd share one particular dream I had recently because you seriously can't make this stuff up. So enjoy the strange story that happened in my brain! I will try to explain the things I actually understand.
I was in Los Angeles (which I really, really, really want to visit in real life!) and was hanging out with Trisha (I really don't know her, but I do watch her youtube videos. Here's her channel if you aren't familiar with her, if you are the rest of this will make sense: http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCF2oW5-MO8dB6ul9WH9xi0A ) I asked her where I should visit, and she surprised me and took me to this sex shop. We were looking around and this old man squeezed me and tried to take me away. I kept screaming for help, but no one helped. Then Trish finally led me out of the store and started screaming at me that he was the owner of the store and he only invited certain people to come to the store so I was being so rude. She was so angry that she was never going to be able to shop there again and then told me that was her husband. I was freaked out, so we separated.
Then I was left in L.A. alone with no idea where I was. I found these two girls and told them my story and they decided to help me. They took me to this car wash for people and we went through it and at the end was a pool where another youtuber, Brittani Louise Taylor (http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCSUyajSl8NgS-6l0Wv8JaaQ ), was hosting this swimming competition so we started swimming and were pretty much in last place. I tried talking to Brittani, but she was busy talking to the camera. I'm not really sure how this next part transitioned, but the next thing I know we were at a taping for a game show. We were in this back stage area where a dog tried to bite my toes and next to us Jenny McCarthy and Donald Trump were fighting about something.
We ended up going to the main taping area and I didn't have shoes, so I tweeted asking for someone to bring me shoes. This girl brought me shoes and told me they were so uncomfortable. I tried them on and they hurt so bad so I decided not to wear them. The game show was about people making inventions with strange objects. At my table, there were 3 people who I was friends with in elementary school and they were playing "Just Dance" for the Wii. (In real life I have been trying to find a cheap Wii to buy online to no avail and I love that game) There were only 3 controllers so I couldn't play. I went off to the side. I found a green pair of Old Navy flip flops that I put on and were much more comfortable. Then a woman with no shoes came by and I offered her the uncomfortable ones and she was so excited and hugged me.
Somehow it turned into a commercial with those 3 friends and I tripped into the scene spilling rice everywhere. I was trying to pick it up and the director was mad so he made us all sing to see who was the best. He didn't like anyone's voice, but I woke up right before it was my turn to sing.
So, as you can see, there is really no sense or reason to this dream, but it sure was interesting. And on a side note, I keep having a problem with sleeping on my nose. I don't know how this happens, but I wake up with my face in my pillow and a sore, red nose. I have some sleeping issues!

Overreacting: Dentist Edition
I am one of those weird people who LOVES going to the dentist. After having been to horrible dentists as a kid, my dad finally found us the PEFECT dentist when I was about 10. And ever since then, the dentist has been a glorious place. I never miss a 6 month checkup and began to look forward to them. I didn't have straight teeth and my parents kept putting off braces, so I ended up taking matters into my own hands. After spending a lot of money on invisalign through an orthodontist to get straight teeth, I am finally content with my smile. (Read all about my invisalign journey here: http://stephsinvisalignjourney.blogspot.com/ I blogged the entire thing!)
I recently had a 6 month checkup and was sure my teeth were going to be great because my invisalign made me more conscious of taking care of them. And I was sort of right. My teeth were great. No build up and in great shape. My gums, however, were a different story. I am pretty good about flossing. Better than I've ever been in my life, so I didn't expect that. I had my pockets measured, which wasn't particularly comfortable. Apparently they want them to be 1-3 millimeters. I had quite a few fours and fives. Which is NOT good. So basically I have to shrink them. My options are being super diligent about flossing or having them do a deep cleaning, which is expensive and sounds painful. Now this is not the part I want to focus on, even though I am totally paranoid my gums will get weak and my teeth will fall out just when I got them nice looking. (I'm probably totally overreacting, but it doesn't matter because I'm freaked..pretty sure I've decided on a waterpik flosser. Check them out here if you don't know what they are: http://www.waterpik.com/oral-health/ They seem to be the easiest way to deep clean your gums)
The part I want to dwell on is PAIN, ok mostly tooth education. My gums are throbbing and I'm not exactly great at dealing with pain. Don't even get me started about my dry socket after my wisdom teeth were removed. But I kind of feel like my life is a lie. Ok, exaggerating again, but still. I think taking care of your teeth is not something that we're taught enough of. Or we don't pay attention. I use a sonicare electric toothbrush, but apparently I have been brushing my teeth wrong this whole time. How does that happen? I'm 23. Did I never learn this or just ignore it? And who actually flosses every night? I'm pretty sure the majority of people don't. But it's so important. I'm sure genetics play a big role, but it just really has me thinking. So if you're one of those people, I say just get yourself in a good routine before something bad happens to your teeth. And since I'm an educator (hah), I thought I would share some tips I was amazed to learn over the years:
1) Brush your teeth at a 90 degree angle against your gums and move your brush in circles. Do not brush back and forth or only focus on the teeth. Get those gums!
2) Brush your teeth for 2 minutes, paying equal attention to each quadrant (imagine your mouth split in four equal sections...my sonicare toothbrush is awesome because it beeps after each 30 seconds so you know when to switch. The same way my clarisonic face brush works)
3) FLOSS correctly!!
4) Brush 2 times a day and mouthwash at least once a day. Bacteria is crafty and will find a way to get in your mouth! I was told antiseptic mouthwash is best for this.
5) Chewing gum after meals helps get all those things out of your mouth since you shouldn't brush after everything you eat. You don't want to wear down your enamel. But make sure it's sugar free gum. You don't want to add extra sugar to your teeth!
Anyway, just had to get that off my chest. Hope it helps somebody! I will definitely be spending extra time on my oral care, even though I already spend probably more time than the average person. Oh well, I guess my gums just require extra care. As my little sisters say, "You get what you get and you don't throw a fit"

Myspace Survey Throwback
Remember those myspace surveys that everybody used to fill out?...that is if you're even old enough to remember myspace LOL!! Well I thought, for old time's sake, I'd fill one out today, so here you go:
1. First thing you wash in the shower? Shampoo my hairrrr
1. First thing you wash in the shower? Shampoo my hairrrr

Not really. I change my mind too much for that. And the weather is weird here.
Indifferent
My wallet

Pandora 90's radio cause that's a thing I'm glad I discovered. Currently it's playing "100 Years" by Five for Fighting <3 Although I don't think that's a 90's song...
Only 'Merica. Hopefully that will change because I'd LOVE to travel
I'm an adult now...or so they tell me. My mom really wasn't strict, only in some random ways. And my dad was fairly strict, yet not very if that makes sense. I guess only in some ways.
I think I would, but I'd be nervous
Sure, why not?

For what?? Girls rule and boys drool, overall. hehe
WTF? This is clearly not made for 23 year olds to answer
It is, but would probably be more wavy if I didn't put product it in.

My love/hate relationship with glitter nail polish!
Glitter nail polish. It's so pretty and creates a fancy look with little effort. But every single time I go to take it off, I remember why I dread the process. It is seriously impossible! You have to scrub your nails to get every bit of glitter off, and I always end up using 4 times as many cotton balls than with normal polish. Plus, if you're anything like me and pick at the skin around your nails, the nail polish remover feels pretty awful in those cuts. If you've ever experienced this, you can understand! Overall, it's always a horrible time. Yet I can't give up my pretty sparkly polishes!
This last time, I was wearing one of my favorites, The Kardashian Collection Nicole by O.P.I. Wear Something Spar-Kylie. (http://www.nicolebyopi.com/products/wear-something-spar-kylie) Besides the super adorable name, it's a beautifully colored polish! The perfect pink with the perfect amount of sparkles. The easily girly nail polish that you only need one coat of. WIN! (Disclaimer: This is my total honest opinion and is not sponsored in any way!)
Can't disagree with that!

I mean, how cute is this??
Here's an instagram picture I took while wearing it. (www.instagram.com/stifinitumah)
What's an annoying part of your beauty routine you just cannot give up despite the amount of work it takes? I am definitely the type of girl who can't stand not having nail polish on. It's so pretty and I love adding different shades, brands, and colors to my collection. Such a fun and easy way to spice up your look. I change my color usually once a week. Sometimes it gets frustrating waiting for it to dry or if the polish doesn't apply evenly. Or if I'm tired, but my nail polish is chippy and I can't stand not to fix it. But hands down, my biggest complaint is taking off glitter nail polish. However, that will not deter me from using all my sparkly colors and even adding new ones to my collection!!!

Hello everyone!
Hey guys! If you're checking out this blog because you're subscribed to me or saw me on youtube, thanks!! You're awesome. If you just so happened to stumble upon it, I'm Steph and I make beauty and random videos on youtube under the username Vmarshopper! Check me out!! http://www.youtube.com/user/vmarshopper I decided to make this blog as a better way to connect with you guys. I can share pictures and stories anytime of day, and easily include links. I also don't have to worry about my less than stellar camera and my makeupless face on these 90 degree days. I love being real with you guys, so I don't mind making videos in pajamas or without my hair and makeup done, but I feel like it doesn't always send credibility to my makeup and hair skills when I'm too lazy half the time to do them. This blistering Wisconsin heat makes it almost impossible to go outside, so I'll be honest- I've been going without makeup and throwing my hair up and whatever clothes I don't mind sweating in on a lot. But I still love makeup and hair and will be doing them and including tips in videos coming soon so don't worry. Plus, all this time without makeup is a great break for my skin!
I just wanted to make this quick introduction. It is my hopes to write everyday, at least if I have interesting enough stuff to say. I love writing, so I doubt that will be a problem. My main problem is lack of laptop, but luckily I've hijacked my mom's for as long as that will last. Thanks for reading and I'll talk to you soon.
