Eye Rubbing

Lol weird title, I know. But does anybody else exceptionally enjoy rubbing their eyes? I purposely postpone doing my eye makeup until JUST before I leave so I can rub them to my heart's content. It just feels so nice. I oftentimes forget and rub them anyway. Then my eyes start to water because I get mascara in them and I have to compulsively rub my eyes until all my eye makeup is off. Which usually requires a tissue or my shirt to help. I'm sure that's not good for my eyes and preventing wrinkles. But I can't help it! It ends up happening everyday. Last week, I got a scratch or something somehow on my inner left eyelid so I couldn't really rub it since it hurt and I wanted it to heal. It was so hard.

Ps, I probably never mentioned this, but eyes CREEP me out. Especially when there is something wrong with them. So I don't recommend researching eye rubbing if you have a weak stomach like me. EW

Omg I just found this article (everything online HAS to be true) and this is some of it:

"There's no reason to recommend rubbing at all," says McMonnies about the range of everyday situations that usually beg for a rub. "Rubbing should be avoided at all times."
So, short of sitting on your hands, how can you avoid rubbing?
McMonnies suggests:
  • gently applying a clean, wet facecloth to your eyes to help reduce the itch and urge to rub or to remove sleep from your eyes in the morning.
  • treating the underlying causes of dry, irritated or itchy eyes to minimise the need for rubbing. This could include avoiding known allergens or irritants, or taking your allergy medication.
  • trying to manage your stress if this is the reason that you rub your eyes.

Now I'm worried. I don't do it for any reason really other than it feels good. Does this slightly terrify me finding out it isn't recommended? YES. Will I stop rubbing my eyes? Probably not. How would you even stop that? It's like stopping eating meat. Sure people do it. But not the kind of people aka person I want to be. Please tell me other people do this casually?

Beauty Favorites of the Moment

Totally in the mood for a random post, so hope you all are too. Here are a bunch of my favorite beauty things, if anyone is curious. I thought it would be interesting to compare in the future to see what has changed and what hasn't.

shampoo- not very picky about shampoos. I'll use whatever. Currently I switch off between an off brand dandruff shampoo to keep dandruff away and Suave daily clarifying shampoo for when my hair is greasy (I do not recommend using it everyday and it usually takes me 2 rounds of shampoo to get my hair super clean)

conditioner- aussie 3 minute miracle <3 (keep in mind, I wouldn't recommend it for daily use. I don't wash my hair daily)
love this stuff!!

hairspray- aussie finish flexible hold (aerosol version- sorry ozone layer) smells AMAZING & works great

leave in conditioner- usually I would use aussie hair insurance (which is awesome), but using this deep conditioner (see above) I don't need anything special so I some I made myself... find out how to make it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcGFDE6bGJI

mousse- TRESemme flawless curls mousse. gives pretty curls, but mostly importantly keeps my frizz at bay!

face primer- I don't use this all the time, but I really love L'Oreal magic lumi light infusing primer. nice finish and good results.

foundation- L'Oreal visible lift smooth absolute instant age reversing foundation. I cannot rave about this enough. Makes my skin look FLAWLESS! Not in love with the brush applicator, but still love it.
even the bottles are pretty!

bb cream- Maybelline dram fresh. Not full coverage, but just enough to hide minor imperfections.

concealer- L'Oreal true match super blendable crayon concealer. Super easy to use and goes on effortlessly.

**I'm not a fan of powder in summer so I don't have a favorite at the moment**

blush- I haven't been wearing blush much since I try to go for a more natural summer look, but I do love the combination or elf shimmering facial whip in lilac petal with milani blush in pink craze over it. super pretty and lasts longer

bronzer- I don't wear bronzer much, either, as I have just tried to embrace my pasty skin! but I do like nyc bronzer in sunny, as pretty much everyone else does. it's inexpensive and does a great job.

highlight- mary-lou manizer from the balm. more expensive than most of my other favorites, but SO beautiful for highlighting. just the perfect product.

the most gorgeous color in person

eyebrows- I love filling my brows in with the darkest color from elfs ethereal eyeshadow quad. it is the perfect shade and works great. if necessary, I will also keeps my brows down with elf's clear lash and eyebrow gel

eye primer- L'Oreal magic decrease eyelid primer. goes on smoothly and feels nice on your lids. can't ask for more. well except keeping your shadow on longer, but I never pay attention to that. whoops

mascara- L'Oreal voluminous false lashes. makes your lashes look AWESOME & doesn't require much work. and no clumping is always a plus!

eyeliner- I've been loving Maybelline shadow effects beaming fx in dark brown. I think you can use it as eyeshadow or eyeliner. it's in a crayon form and gives a nice subtler look than black.

eye shadow- like the rest of the natural known world, I love Maybelline eye studio color tattoo in bad to the bronze. it is a beautiful color and applies so easily. I love applying this all over my lid and then working some Revlon satin eyeshadow in polished bronze into the crease. Looks super cute.

so pretty and bronzey!

lip product- since my lips are sort of sensitive, I don't wear lip products much, but the one I've been reaching for lately is L'Oreal colour riche balm in laze in the maze. it's so creamy and pretty and isn't overwhelming to my light complexion. definitely a win.

perfume/body spray- since it's summer, i'm leaning towards body sprays and Dark Kiss by bath and body works is by far my go-to scent

I have learned I use a lot more L'Oreal products than I realized lol. But these are all my current favorites. What are yours?
